In other news, it looks like Michelle Kwan withdrew from the Olympics due to another groin injury, meaning Emily Hughes will take her place. It's kinda sad, but honestly, I don't think she would have had much of a chance of winning the gold even if she was in top condition. With the new Code of Points system, she's really at a disadvantage when it comes to the technical side of things, especially with some skaters doing triple-triple-double combinations and a couple (like Kimmie Meissner) who actually have a triple axel in their arsenal, even if they're not very consistant. I think Michelle had a triple toe-triple toe at one point, but it was never her strong suit. And with Sasha Cohen just as strong artistically, it really would have been a long shot for her to win gold.
