Well, that sucks
I am not normally a shoe person. Clothes, I absolutely love, but when it comes to shoes, I almost always wear the same black flats with everything. The only exception is this pair of knee-high boots I ordered a few years ago that I just love to death. I would probably wear them all the time if it wasn't for the fact that they're taupe (black was sold-out at the time), and I don't have many outfits that go with them.
Well, about a week ago, I finally decided to order the black pair, which came in today. Unfortunately, even though I ordered the same exact boot in the same exact size as the taupe ones, they don't fit.
*sigh*
I'm so disappointed. :( I really, really, really wanted those boots, and I don't think sending them back and getting a bigger size will help since the problem is with the size of my calves, and not my feet.
I might just keep them, though. Mom's talking about buying a stationary bike with some of our tax refund, so I could try losing some weight so I can fit in them. They would certainly be a nice incentive...
Well, I have until next Wednesday to make a final decision.
Oh, my lovely black boots...

Shoes are AWESOME! But incentive or not, just because you lose weight doesn't mean you'll lose weight in your calves. Depends on your workout and what you eat - very important! I suggest you send them back, and when you lose the weight you want to lose, you can buy much better shoes!
Good luck with your goal! I'm working to lose weight too for this year so I know how you feel! But my policy with shoes is that they need to be over 100 bucks and they need to be leather, good quality. Because nothing sucks more than shoes that don't fit right and hurt your feet, no matter how good it looks. As one movie famously said, or something like it, that good shoes take you to good places, so buy them wisely.
Good luck! (Is also on the hunt for boots)

And I could never justify spending over a $100 on a pair of shoes! *laughs* These boots are the most expensive I've ever owned, and even they were only about $45 on clearance ($70 at full price).
I think I'd really rather just keep them and try to lose the weight, which I really need to do anyway. That way, I get the shoes and a healthier body to boot. (Ah, that was a bad pun! >.<)

I used to think it was ridiculous to spend over 100 dollars on clothing or shoes too, but I can wear my leather pumps every day and be comfortable, where as my old heels I couldn't last in them for over 30 minutes before my feet started to hurt and then I would start avoiding my shoes like the plague. In the end, if you can get them cheap and love them than yeah! But most days you can't get great heels (pretty AND comfortable) without going over 100 bucks... at least, I have a closest full of pretty heels that kills my feet (and 1 expansive pair that doesn't) from my own experience.
But good luck with losing weight!
