Fannish5 - July 10

Because it's been a while since I've done one of these, and I have nothing else to post:

Name your five favorite works of historical fiction, and why you love them.

1. Emma - The romance is very well done, and the art is fantastic.
2. Le Chevalier D'eon - I love how everything plays out pretty much like it actually did in history, except with a supernatural twist. Plus, D'eon and Durand are hot. HOT.
3. Fushigi Yugi (as well as Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden) - Does it count as historical fiction if the setting is based on ancient China, but is not actually ancient China? Oh, well, I'll count them anyway, because I'm having trouble filling up this list as it is. I don't read/watch a lot of historical fiction. (Besides, FY:GK's real world setting is Japan in the...1920s, I think? So that'll fit regardless.)
4. Mulan - Speaking of ancient China, my absolute favorite Disney move ever! Great animation, great story, great music, great humor, great romance... What more could you want?
5. Gone with the Wind - It's a classic. 'Nuff said.
