A random holiday thought

I love Christmas movies, but one thing always bugs me about them. You know how Santa Claus usually turns out to be real after all? Why are the parents always surprised by this? If he was real, the parents would have to know, because every year (and not just the year that Santa Claus is "proven") there would be presents under the tree that they didn't buy. Okay, maybe some people are absent-minded enough that they might think they just forgot about buying that particular present, but certainly not all of them. The "Santa Claus is real" plotline, as enjoyable as it may be, just doesn't work when you think about it logically.

All the parents are under a mass spell of false memories, having hallucinated buying and wrapping those presents, also having hallucinated getting trampled in the mall to purchase them. Then they mass hallucinate the credit card bill next month. That Santa, his magic is so thorough.

Wow, the old jolly fat guy is more powerful than I gave him credit for...and kinda scary, to boot! I'd rather not have my memories messed with, thank you very much!

That's totally true.. esp. in the "Santa Claus" (sp?) movie where everyone thinks Charlie's dad is insane because he acts/looks/pretends/etc to be Santa and all that bologna. And then they're all "ZOMG HE'S REAL SANTA HE'S NOT CRAZY WE JUST HAD TO BELIEVE!?X0"
xD

Haha, the Santa Clause movies were what prompted this entry! They're some of my favorite Christmas movies, but I always have to turn my brain off while watching them.
