Fanfic updates

To break up the monotony of the 30 Day Meme posts, how about updating you on my stories for a change?

First off, it's a little late, but Chapter 11 of To Be By Your Side is finally posted at FF.net and .moon. (Thanks, sea_thoughts !) I hope, hope, hope to have Ch. 12 of Melting Ice up pretty soon as well. (Like by next weekend.) It's almost done, but I've been distracted by a handful of Kaleido Star plot bunnies -- two of which are demanding to be written right. this. instant. (Ugh, I need to finish Melting Ice! Why am I starting two more stories?)

For those interested -- which is probably like two of you -- here's the rundown:

What Happens in Paris (working title) - I already talked about this in Day 17 post of the character meme, but basically, a guilt-ridden Yuri gets drunk after his and Layla’s win at the International Circus Festival, and he ends up sleeping with Layla, who is also a little tipsy. This is the first of the two stories that are demanding my immediate attention, and it has the potential to be one of the hottest things I've ever written. Seriously. I already have a 30 page "script" (my version of outlining) almost finished. Just need to go back and turn it into prose.

Currently Untiitled, but I'm open to suggestions because I'm totally blocked. - One of Leon’s ex-girlfriends dies, leaving him custody of the daughter he never knew he had. It's funny, because I'm not a big fan of the Sora/Leon pairing despite its popularity in fandom. Like I said on the second OTP meme question, I prefer Sora/Ken. However, when Sora stepped in to help Leon with Veronique (the daughter), they somehow ended up falling in love. Silly characters. *laughs* Anyway, I have a 50 page completed script for this story, and I think it has definite potential.

Heart-to-Heart - Ken’s heart problems worsen, and he needs a transplant. His health scare makes Sora realize that she cares for him as more than just a friend.

Behind the Scenes - I read somewhere that in the short-lived spin-off manga, Mia was married to Marion’s widowed father Jean. I don’t know if that’s true or was just a rumor, but I did think there were some moments between them in the anime that hinted at potential as a couple. Of course, in this story, Mia would be a little bit older (early 20s), since it’s kind of skeevy for a man Jean’s age to hook up with a teenager, but it could be interesting to write a romance between them, especially considering that Marion’s not that much younger than Mia. There could be some definite conflict there, no matter how much Marion might like Mia personally.

Untitled - One of my favorite episodes is the one in which Sarah’s and Kalos’ old friend Andy, who is in love with Sarah, tries to convince her to leave Kaleido Stage and sign with his record company, leading to Kalos finally admitting how much Sarah means to him. It’s also the episode where it is revealed how Kaleido Stage came to be, and I think it would be fun to write about the founding of Kaleido Stage and the love triangle between Kalos, Sarah, and Andy.

Behind the Mask - I actually started this one-shot a couple of years ago, but never finished it for some reason. (I really ought to. It wouldn't take long to finish.) Basically, it’s a Layla character piece, set when Sora’s troupe starts performing at Marine Land.

KS/SM Crossover - This is another story I started working on a couple of years ago but never completed. In a nutshell, CereCere goes after Sora’s Dream Mirror.
