I saw your drabble post but after you said that you wanted to write about other characters outside of against the rules. If you do it again in the future, I would love to see you explore Ami/Akira more (for example 1.Vows, 2.Honeymoon).

Actually, I'm also new to anime/manga and sailor moon is the only one I've been exposed to. Any suggestions?

I'd recommend anything I gave an 8 or higher. Some of the sevens are pretty good, too, but it depends. Most of the things I've watched/read are licensed, but a few are unfortunately out of print.

For specific recommendations for a fan of Sailor Moon, I think you might like:

Anime - Kaleido Star, Super GALS, Fruits Basket, Princess Nine, Pretear, Fushigi Yugi, Card Captor Sakura, Someday's Dreamers, Ouran High School Host Club, NANA, Princess Tutu, Witch Hunter Robin, X TV Series, Aria, Petite Princess Yucie, Ultramaniac, Wedding Peach, and Magic Knight Rayearth

Manga: Fruits Basket, Ceres: Celestial Legend, High School Debut, Ultramaniac, Card Captor Sakura, Alice 19th, Someday's Dreamers, and Fushigi Yugi. (And, of course, you can check out my manga review blog for more, although I haven't reviewed any of these titles yet.)
