I am officially insane

What in the world possessed me to decide that Akira would be a chemistry professor? Sure, it seemed a good idea at the time, since it gave him a great excuse to have a dog named Mercury, but when you really think about, he could easily have been an astronomy or literature professor with a dog named Mercury. Heck, even a history professor with an interest in Ancient Rome would have worked. And yeah, maybe chemistry is more related to the Ami's field of interest, but literature is bound to be a required course and I could see her taking astronomy as an elective. Of course, without the chemistry angle, I would have lost the whole lab assistant thing, but I could have made Ami a TA or something...

WHY DIDN'T I THINK ABOUT THIS BEFORE?

*pulls out hair and sobs*

Okay, so maybe it's not that bad, but based on the PM I just got from Aglaia concerning the post I made a couple of weeks ago asking about laboratories in general, I'm starting to think that maybe I am way over my head in thinking I can actually write this story. I don't know if I can pull this off...

In happier news, I finished watching A Little Snow Fairy Sugar today, and I must say that it is, hands-down, the CUTEST. ANIME. EVER. Seriously, you would have to be a complete cold-hearted b*****d if this series didn't make you feel all happy and gooey inside after watching it. It's really great for kids too. Nothing objectionable at all, unless you want to count the Saga-in-the-bathtub scenes that appear in almost every episode, but it's not like you actually see anything. I wonder if they have a boxset... If they do, I might seriously consider getting it. I need to remember to check it out the next time I go to Best Buy.

Anyway, before I get back to looking at this lab equipment site Aglaia told me about, how about a couple of quizzes?

Your Ideal Marriage Proposal Is

A Christmas proposal, with lots of snow and city lights.

Sounds good to me. ^_^

Your Reputation Is: Sweet Girl

While you're well known, there's nothing to worry about.
You're reputation is mostly good - as good as any rep can be.

Whew! Good to know.

Ah, hello! I most humbly apologize for my intrusiveness and impudence in just barging in like this, but I believe you are a friend of Mr. Samuraiter, correct? I again most humbly apologize for being so rude, but I was wondering, have you heard from him recently? I haven't seen him around in a very long time and I'm kind of worried ;_; Please forgive me for my intrusion, it's just that you're a friend of Mr. Samuraiter so I thought you might know how he's doing. Thank you very much for your time ^_^

I don't mind the intrusion at all. ^_^

Actually, I've been wondering the same thing myself. I don't think I've heard from him since before New Year's, and I haven't seen him on my Buddy List either. I know he was sending off his computer to get some work done on it, but he said that was only supposed to be for a couple of days. I thought he would have gotten it back by now.

Sorry I don't have better news. My guess is that the computer upgrade is taking longer than he expected, but I don't know.

Ah, okay! Thank you very much for your graciousness ^_^ Yeah, I read about his compy upgrade in his LJ, and he said it wouldn't take too long, which is why I'm a tad worried ;_; I hope he's okay, I do...

What kind of info are you looking for Yume-chan? I could probably help. I'll try to remember to log onto my aim and you can *ring* if you have any questions. It's been a while since I've been in a lab, but all those hours of fitting together the glass piping, flasks and whatnot have still left an impression on me ~shudders~ Those labs were a pain in the ***!

I've been in all sorts of labs at school so I may have an idea what you are looking for.

*sigh* That's part of the problem. I'm not sure what kind of info I'm looking for. Everybody keeps telling me I need to ask more specific questions, but I can't think of any because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

Aglaia did a good job explaining what a lab generally looks like, although I'll probably have to take some creative license because I don't want Akira and Ami to be working among hundreds of people, and the link she sent me on basic chemistry equipment was pretty informative, but I guess the problem I'm having is that I don't know what to do with the information.

Probably my biggest concern is that I need Akira and Ami to make some kind of discovery, but I don't know what kind of discovery I want them to find. It's a rather important plot point because it sets things up their first kiss. I could probably fake my through with the rest of the lab stuff, but that part needs to sound realistic.
