Stole this from Kate

Nothing really much to report today, so...

List 10 shows and let your friends guess who your favorite character is in each. When someone gets one right, cross it off the list and explain why you love that character!

EDIT: I'm just going to go ahead and post the answers, since nobody else has any guesses.

1) Everwood - Ephram Brown
2) Desperate Housewives
Bree Van De Camp, as guessed by [livejournal.com profile] samuraiter. You know, I wasn't really expecting to like her character that much even though I was a big fan of the actress from her guest role on Everwood. A conservative, Republican, Martha Stewart-clone perfectionist? Not exactly the type of character I normally like, but Marcia Cross does an amazing job playing her. Plus, hands down, she gets all the best lines. I will never forget her "George, do you have an erection?!" line when they went miniature golfing. That was just priceless. Absolutely priceless.
3) Grey's Anatomy
George O'Malley, as guessed by [livejournal.com profile] dark_branwen. I tend to like underdogs, and George definitely qualifies.
4) Charmed - Prue Halliwell (Phoebe, if going by characters still on the show)
5) 7th Heaven - Matt Camden
6) Gilmore Girls - Lorelai Gilmore
7) Smallville - Chloe Sullivan
8) Numb3rs
Charlie Eppes, as guessed by [livejournal.com profile] amazonqueenkate. (As if that was so hard to guess. *laughs*) Smart and adorable? Always a winning combination. Not to mention David Krumholtz... *drools*
9) Friends
Chandler Bing, as guessed by [livejournal.com profile] samuraiter. Gotta love guys with a sense of humor.
10) Sex and the City
Miranda Hobbes, as guessed by [livejournal.com profile] dark_branwen. As I mentioned in my reply to Samuraiter, I've only recently started watching the show, but Miranda quickly became my favorite for her cynical views on love and romance.

I don't know many of the characters in these shows, but...

3.) Sandra Oh's character.
8.) Charlie
9.) Phoebe
10.) Carrie

Those are my guesses. :)

3.) Sandra Oh's character. - That would be Cristina, and nope. While I really like her no-nonsense, take-no-crap attitude, there are other characters I like more.
8.) Charlie - That was a no-brainer.
9.) Phoebe - Nope. Too ditzy for my tastes.
10.) Carrie - No.

[identity profile] amazonqueenkate.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I have not watched Grey's Anatomy. I keep being told I'd like it, but it COMPETES with Crossing Jordan. And I can not boost the ratings of a competing show. It hurts me on the inside.

10.) Charolette?

[identity profile] heavenly-pearl.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You probably would like it, but I can understand that. To be honest, I didn't think I would like it so much, since I don't like blood and other gross stuff like that -- required on a medical show -- but the characters are great and it's really rather funny at times. (Plus, Patrick Dempsey is incredibly hot, although he's not my favorite character.) I just have to close my eyes and sing to myself whenever they're in the OR doing surgery. *laughs*

As for Charlotte, she's close to my favorite, but she's a bit too much of a romantic at times. If it wasn't for that, then she would be tops.

[identity profile] amazonqueenkate.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the gross stuff. Watching House requires that I close my eyes for the surgery part, but I am so in love with the characters that I cannot refuse. (It's odd, because I can watch my crime scene shows, but make it a medical thing with live people and it's gross. Hrm.)

I liked Charlotte, the two episodes I watched. I wanted to hurt Carrie, but I liked Charlotte.

1.) (I have not seen that show.)
2.) Bree Van De Kamp.
3.) (I have not seen that show.)
4.) (I have not seen that show.)
5.) (I have not seen that show.)
6.) (No idea, but Alexis Bledel was in Sin City!)
7.) Lex Luthor.
8.) (I have not seen that show.)
9.) Ross Geller.
10.) Mister Big.

You can tell my television experience is a little narrow.

2.) Bree Van De Kamp - We have a winner! Love her, love her, love her! Marcia Cross was robbed at the Emmys.
6.) (No idea, but Alexis Bledel was in Sin City!) - She was? I didn't know that. But, no, Rory isn't my favorite. She used to be, but I don't like the direction they're taking her this season so far.
7.) Lex Luthor - Mm, he is pretty sexy and makes a great bad guy, but no.
9.) Ross Geller - No. Too geeky.
10.) Mister Big - Uh-huh.

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
2.) I agree that Marcia Cross was more deserving of the Emmy. Nothing against Felicity Huffman (who is married to William H. Macy, one of my favorite actors), but her character, no matter how much she does for the image of the stressed-out mom, lacks the subtlety and intricacy that make Bree so interesting. I mean, I thought Bree was going to be a villain at the start of the show, but she wound up being more sympathetic than the rest of the cast.

6.) She portrayed a hooker. Oddly enough, she still did not say any dirty words. Heh.

7.) If all else fails, you can like Spike ... er, Brainiac.

9.) That might depend on which Ross you mean. Season 1 Ross is geeky (and charming in that way), but Season 10 Ross ... is a jerk. How about Chandler? Hard to go wrong with Mister Sarcasm.

10.) I say that because Big is the only character I can remember from that show. ... I do know that Kyle MacLachlan was on there, too, but I have trouble picturing him in anything but Twin Peaks.

Exactly.

I don't think he's appeared on Smallville... If he did, it was only as a guest role. He's certainly not a main character.

9.) That might depend on which Ross you mean. Season 1 Ross is geeky (and charming in that way), but Season 10 Ross ... is a jerk. How about Chandler? Hard to go wrong with Mister Sarcasm.

Yep, I love Chandler. So, so funny.

I actually only started watching "Sex and the City" a couple of weeks ago when they began showing it in syndication on the WB (minus the nudity and bad language), so I've only watched a couple of episodes with Mr. Big so far.

2) Lynette Scavo
3) Christina
8) Charlie

[identity profile] heavenly-pearl.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
2) Lynette Scavo - To be honest, I didn't find Lynette all that interesting last season, but I'm really liking her this season so far. (Loved how she took care of her husband's new cleaning "system" tonight. Brilliant.) Still, Bree still rules.
3) Christina - See my reply to Kate.
8) Charlie - Yep, but Kate got it first. Sorry.

[identity profile] dark-branwen.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
I also love Bree. ^_^ I can't wait to see the rest of the season since it is so obvious where they are heading with this Rex thing.

3) Hmm... Then how about George?
6) Paris
9) Piper
10) Miranda

3) Hmm... Then how about George?

Bingo!

6) Paris

No, Paris annoys me. Muchly.

9) Piper

Piper's cool, but no.

10) Miranda

Another correct guess.
