Ike Update
Sep. 11th, 2008 03:40 pmYeah, looks like we're going to be hit.
Mom refuses to leave unless we get a mandatory evacuation order. :( I can understand not wanting to go through another nightmare like evacuating for Rita, and, yeah, we're not technically one of the coastal counties that are under mandatory evactuation, but we live in a thirty year old mobile home. With strong enough winds... I don't even want to think about it. At least they're saying that the storm is currently weakening a little.
I went ahead and packed up my stuff just in case a mandatory evacuation is called after all. (It was back during Rita, so it's a definite possibility.) I'm a bit proud of myself with coming up with the idea of putting all my individual anime DVDs in an old CD wallet, instead of trying to pack up all the cases. That really helped to keep the amount of boxes down. I got all my manga, most of my anime (left out my first and second season Sailor Moon dub videos, since I have the subs), and a good number of my favorite books in just two large totes.
Now Dad's boarding up the windows, but, honestly, I think he's doing more harm than good. He's already broken the kitchen window. *rolls eyes*
Anyway, whether we evacuate or not, you probably won't see me online for a while starting tomorrow, so...see you. (I hope.)
