Hey, it's been a while since I've done one of these, mainly because I just haven't bought a whole lot lately, but here are my newest purchases!

First off, a SuperS poster I bought for obvious reasons. (*cough*Helios)

Guys, Sentai Filmwork's Pre-Black Friday sale is RIDICULOUS! Especially if you're like me and don't really care if you buy DVD or Blu-Ray as long as it is cheap. The prices are so good that I actually blind bought some series, which I almost never do, but, hey, when everything is so cheap, it's hard to reach the $75 minimum for free shipping! I figure if it turns out I don't like them, I can just resell them on eBay.

Anyway, this is what I ordered:

Chihayafuru Complete Collection DVD
Chihayafuru Season 2 Complete Collection DVD
CLAMP School Detectives Complete Collection DVD
Girlish Number Complete Collection Blu-Ray (This was the most expensive thing I bought, and it was still only $7.99!)
Living For The Day After Tomorrow Complete Collection DVD (Blind buy)
Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions Complete Collection DVD (Half blind buy -- I actually just started watching it on Crunchyroll, but since I'm already in love with it, I decided I might as well just buy it. Hopefully, the rest is as good as the beginning!)
Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions - Heart Throb - Complete Collection DVD (Blind buy)
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun Complete Collection DVD
Natsuyuki Rendezvous Complete Collection DVD
One Week Friends Complete Collection DVD
Psychic Detective Yakumo Complete Collection DVD (Blind buy)
Taisho Baseball Girls Complete Collection DVD (Blind buy)
Tanaka-kun is Always Listless Complete Collection DVD
Watamote: No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular Complete Collection DVD (Blind buy)

Fourteen sets for about $82 (once tax was included)! See, ridiculous.

Oh, while I'm thinking about it, it's almost time to send out Christmas/holiday cards, so if you want to receive a card from me or if you have moved since last year, you can either PM me or comment to this entry with your address. Comments will be screened.

He's mine!

Look what I got!

*screams*

Officially, my most favorite piece of merchandise ever! Got him for a pretty good price, too. I mentioned when he was first announced that the retail price was about $200, which I actually was okay with spending on him. (Kinda.) Most of the ones listed on eBay were from Japanese sellers who were asking a lot more, though, so I was really happy to find an American seller who was only asking $180, with free shipping to boot! Not only that, but I also had a 20% off coupon, so I got him for only $144. Woohoo! Worth every cent! (BTW, the same seller has another one for sale if anybody's interested, although the coupon is now expired. $180 isn't a bad price, though.)

Some other recent purchases:

Sailor Pluto Figuarts Zero figure - Absolutely gorgeous! This pic really doesn't do her justice.

Cute Pegasus plush keychain!

A Girls Memories Sailor Saturn to complete my collection of the Outers! I have both the Moons as well, but though I would love to get the Inners, I'm a bit reluctant to pay the prices they're going for nowadays. I had to pay close to $40 for this Saturn as it is. Should have collected them when they first came out! Oh, well, I'm pretty happy to have the Outers at least.

Tamashii Buddies Sailor Saturn, also completing my Outers collection!

Queen Beryl Funko Pop! - Since this is a Toys R Us exclusive, I figured it was best to buy it as soon as possible due to the store closing.

And, finally, a Yuri Katsuki Q Posket figurine! I also splurged on the limited edition "Yuri on Ice" Blu-Ray/DVD set!

I’m selling a bunch of DVDs on eBay on behalf of my mother. Her eyesight is going bad and she needs surgery to hopefully correct it before it is too late, so any bit of money earned will be greatly appreciated to help cover medical costs. You can check out what is for sale at https://www.ebay.com/usr/heavenlydreampearl?_trksid=p2047675.l2559. Thanks!

It's been a while since I've talked about new Sailor Moon merchandise I've bought, so here's what I've added to my collection since November.

This is probably my favorite new buy: a Proplica Moon Chalice! I've been wanting and wanting and WANTING something from the Proplica line, but everything is just so incredibly expensive, so when I found this baby on eBay for around $50, I had to get it. Regular price is more like $100, so a very good deal. Unfortunately, it needs a special type of battery to light up. I didn't really see much of a point in buying one just to light it up once or twice, so I just found a YouTube video that shows what it does. Good enough!

Thanks to Right Stuf's awesome birthday sale last month, I haven't had much money to spend on fun Sailor Moon merchandise on eBay, but I did manage to pick up a couple of things.

This is my favorite recent purchase! I remember seeing the Pegasus charm up for sale one time on its own, but somebody else ended up buying it before I could, so I was really happy to find this set. The two transformation brooches are actual brooches and the other three are charms. They're all really well made and heavy, not like most of the cheap gashapon charms I have.

I also just won a Girls Memories Chibi Moon figure, but that hasn't even been sent off yet, so I'll just leave that pic for next time!

If you're curious as to what I bought from the Right Stuf sale: Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie DVD, Amagi Brilliant Park DVD set, Okimono Kimono (a book about kimono written by CLAMP's Mokona -- the artist, not the cute mascot), Toradora Bluray/DVD bundle, RWBY Volume 4 DVD, Black Butler Season 3 Bluray/DVD set, Death Parade Bluray/DVD set, and Aromatic Bitters (a manga by Erica Sakurazawa).

Long time, no see! I just haven't had much to talk about lately.

Anyway, here are some of my recent buys on eBay:

These two are obviously my favorite purchases! I may not be able to afford a vintage Stallion Reve, but this anniversary reproduction Pegasus Message Tablet is a pretty good substitute. It opens along the center and you can take the inside out to hide small items (jewelry, pills, paper clips, etc.) underneath. And of course the Twinkle Dolly Helios charm is just super adorable.

More under the cut )

Lots to squeeze about!

So happy to finally get my hands on one of these! I've been wanting a Pluto from this line ever since I bought a set of the Inners, but could never find one. I wasn't even sure one existed until I found a mint one that sold for $200, which just wasn't happening. Luckily, I eventually found this one. It had been displayed and the staff isn't original, but I managed to get the price down to $75 from the original asking price of $100.

Squee! )

Sorry, most of the pictures are turned sideways for some reason, but I don't feel like reuploading so many, so I guess it'll do.
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
Some of this stuff I bought with the eBay gift cards I got for Christmas; others I bought before Christmas but didn't get the chance to squee about.

First off, a supercute wedding plush set from Korea! Got a great deal on them. Just a couple of weeks before I bought this set, another set sold for about $75. I ended up only paying $25!

Lots of pics )
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
Oh, my, gosh! I just bought the most amazing thing yesterday on eBay!

(Just an example pic, check the link above for actual picture and the two other keychains (Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon) that I also got in the lot)

The ONE (to the best of my knowledge) piece of human!Helios merchandise that was released in the 90s! *screams*

It's super, super rare, so I never expected to be able to get my hands on one. It's like a dream come true! I did have to break my usual "only buy from U.S. sellers because international shipping is so expensive" rule to get him -- the seller is from the UK -- but, I mean, how could I possibly resist? And the price was great, too -- $59.99 for all three keychains (plus $14 shipping). Considering I read on this website that the Helios keychain usually goes for at least a $40 minimum if you can find him and that the only other listing I've ever seen for him is this one from a seller in Hong Kong that is trying to sell the set (the three keychains I bought, plus a Pegasus/Chibiusa keychain I also would love to get my hands on) for $250, it's a fantastic deal. Eek, I'm so excited!

In other news, anybody planning to attend one of the limited showings of the Sailor Moon R movie in selected theaters this month? There's a showing in a city fairly close to my sister's house, so not too far away (maybe about an hour from my house), but I can't make up my mind if I'm going or not. On one hand, the R movie is my favorite of the Sailor Moon movies, and it would be really cool to see it on the big screen, check out the new dub, and maybe score a free gift. Plus, it would be a fun excuse to wear one of my new Sailor Moon T-shirts and just be a huge dork with like-minded people. On the other hand, $15 a ticket is kind of expensive, especially when I own the movie (subtitled) and have already seen it probably at least ten times in my lifetime. Also, the ending ALWAYS makes me cry, and I hate crying in public. It's so embarrassing! The last nail in the coffin is that the showing takes place the same weekend as the United States Figure Skating Championships, which I really want to watch live and don't want to risk missing (although I could DVR it if I really had to). *sigh* I probably won't go, but hopefully they'll do it again for the other movies in the future.

Oh, no...

Don't give me plot bunnies, Yuri On Ice! I'm so rusty. It's been months since I did any writing, and I'm supposed to be mostly retired from writing fanfiction. I don't need any story ideas!

But...but... As great as the show is -- and it is FANTASTIC -- I want more Mila and Sala! I know the focus is on mens' skating, so of course they aren't going to be given the same amount of screentime as the guys, yet wouldn't it be neat to focus on some of the ladies for a change? And I could even create OCs based on some of my favorite real-life skaters! I even already have NAMES for them, like Avery Weber (expy of Ashley Wagner -- I know Mila is already somewhat based on her. but whatever, the similarities are mostly superficial), Sarah "Sadie" Silver (expy of Gracie Gold), Ekaterina Mironova (expy of Evgenia Medvedeva), and Megumi Hanabusa (a composite of Mao Asada and Wakaba Higuchi, the latter who happens to be one of Evgenia's best friends). I wonder if anybody else has had a similar idea yet, or if all the fanfiction out there is Victuuri fluff. I should check that out.

In other news, I'm super-excited by a recent purchase on eBay I made: a Sailor Pluto Pullip doll! I've really been wanting one, but I wasn't about to spend $180 on one. Luckily, though, I managed to find one for only a $100, so I snapped it up even though I really wasn't looking to spend so much money right before Christmas. Means that I have less money to spend on Right Stuf's annual holiday sale, but, eh, it was too good a deal to pass up.

Speaking of the Right Stuf sale, I've already picked up a My Love Story! boxset and one of the Tiger & Bunny movies. I have my fingers crossed that the Space Brothers sets will be offered again so I can finish the rest of my collection, but in the meantime, I trying to decide between Shirobako, Toradora, and Black Butler: Books of Circus/Murder... I don't think I can afford all of them, unfortunately. *sigh* Right Stuf, why must you always do this to me?
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
I promised to show off some of my latest purchases, so here they are!

First off, one of the expensive Pegasus items I mentioned last entry. I paid $99 for it, but isn't it just the cutest? And it seems to be pretty rare, too. This is the only one I've ever seen for sale, although I have seen one other example in someone else's collection. As luck would have it, I also had the perfect photo to put in it. That's me and a couple of my friends goofing around with some of my Sailor Moon toys. (Think I was about twenty or twenty-one in that photo.)

And this is the other Pegasus item I won from the same seller. Not as rare, and not as expensive (paid $71, which is actually fairly cheap for one of these in my experience), but a wonderful addition to my collection. Now just have to make sure my nephew never sees it, or else he'll probably want to take it out of the packaging and play with it!

A lot more items under the cut! )

- Just spent a somewhat ridiculous amount of money on two pieces of Pegasus merchandise (one especially rare) yesterday on eBay. I'm going to wait until they come in to tell you what they are, though. I plan to write a big post about my latest purchases. Some of them are really cool!

- Hulu Ends Free Streaming as Yahoo Launches Own Service With Anime - Well, this sucks. I didn't watch a whole lot of anime on Hulu, but I did watch some, and the Yahoo View service doesn't seem to have much so far. At the very least, it doesn't look like they have Pandora Hearts, which I was in the middle of watching on Hulu. *sigh* Crunchyroll does have it, but only the first six episodes are available to free members. May have to end up signing up for a free trial at either Hulu or Crunchyroll in order to at least finish it.

- Watching the Olympics is really making me want to watch Free! again. Actually, I think there's either a movie or an OAV I never watched... I should see if I can find that somewhere.

This episode of Crystal was almost as good as last week's, which I absolutely loved. Things are getting good!I really loved everybody joining their powers together to help Sailor Moon transform into her Super form (even if the transformation itself wasn't that interesting), and the new fuku is stunning. I was never really fond of the Super fuku in the old anime because the colors didn't really work together, but Crystal's color palate makes it look much better. I'm also glad that they kept Neptune scolding Uranus about talking about their "patrons" from the manga. That was always one of my favorite interactions between them! (Although it would be nice to find out exactly who these patrons are.) But the main meat of this episode was the Outers finally telling the Inners their Silver Millennium backstory and what they plan to do to Hotaru. Sure it was a lot of exposition, but it was really well done exposition. I even got chills at one point. Also loved Mistress Nine's voice and thought it was really creepy (in a good way) how Hotaru's face and voice changed when Mistress Nine briefly managed to take control before her final awakening.

In other news, that Pegasus toy that I spent a ridiculous amount of money on finally was delivered a few days ago. There was some doubt I would actually get it since shortly after I bought and paid for it, the seller came back to me, wanting me to pay the full $300 he originally wanted because he really needed the money and regretted selling it for so cheap. I sympathized, but there was no way I could afford to pay that much, so I told him that if he really thought it was worth that much, he was welcome to cancel the order, refund my money, and try to find another seller, though since I was the only one who had expressed an interest in it, that might be asking too much. After taking almost a week to think it over, he finally decided to honor our original deal and sent it off.

I debated for a few days about whether or not to open the box, but it just seemed stupid to pay that much for the thing and not even get to see the main reason I bought it, so I did end up opening it. Luckily, it was very easy to take it out of the box without destroying anything, so I don't think opening it will affect the value that much as long as I keep the toy and box in great condition.

This is what it looked like straight out of the box. There's a velcro closure on the bottom, which lets you open and turn the bell inside out to transform into...

You'll never guess... No, of course you will. )

Another fantastic episode of Crystal this week, with the debut of a new version of the OP song, a brand new ED song, and new transformations for Uranus and Neptune! I'm still not totally in love with the OP, but I gotta say the new singer is a lot better than the person who sang it before. Now I kinda like it. The new ED is sung by Chibi-Usa and is SUPER CUTE, although I can't help but feel that it seems really out of place when this season is so dark. The Haruka/Michiru duet worked better as an ending. As for the new transformations, they basically kept the same exact choreography as from the original anime, which is kinda disappointing, but they look really gorgeous otherwise. Moving on to the episode itself, the second half was actually really quite exciting. I think that was about the best battle of the series so far!Spoilers for the very end of the episode and next week's episode )

In other news, I did something a little -- okay, a lot -- nuts yesterday. There was a listing on eBay for this very rare Crystal Carillon plush that can transform into Pegasus when you turn it inside out, which I've been wanting ever since I first came across a picture of it on one of my favorite Sailor Moon collectibles sites. The seller was asking $299 for it, but was also accepting Best Offers. Well, about five or six hours before the listing was set to end, I decided to throw caution to the wind and send in an offer of $100, never expecting it to be accepted but figuring it wouldn't hurt to at least try. The listing ended without me hearing anything back about my offer, so I assumed that was it. However, a few hours later, I got a message from the seller asking if I would be willing to go up to $130. I didn't really want to pay that much to be honest, but there was no telling when or if I would ever get another opportunity like that again. I mean, it was still new in the box and the only one I've ever seen offered up for sale. Based on its apparent rarity, plus knowing what other Pegasus items tend to go for (A LOT), I wouldn't be surprised if it was really worth $200-plus, so how could I possibly pass up the chance to buy it for that price? (Plus, I was still disappointed about losing out on that other Pegasus plush I mentioned a few entries back which ended up selling for $172.) So...I did! It's pretty much the most expensive single item I've ever bought for myself, but I'm calling it my reward for finally finishing Melting Ice. (Speaking of which, the last chapter has been posted at FF.net, AO3, and [livejournal.com profile] oyster_shell.) Definitely no more buying stuff on eBay for a while, though. My wallet can't take it!
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
New episode of Crystal is out! Still really loving this season. Not really much to say about the episode itself, but I do think everybody's clothes at the concert were gorgeous. Oh, and it was Minako's turn to be the most adorable character -- loved all her fangirling! It was also fun to see her use her Sailor V compact. I always loved Mercury's Aqua Mirage from the "Ami's First Love" special, so it was nice to see Crystal's version of the attack, which was lovely as well. I will say that there were some really strange translation issues in the subtitles, namely Michiru saying her mirror isn't such a "sweet stuff", but, eh, you can't really expect perfect subtitles for a simulcast anyway. Hopefully they will clean that up for the physical release.

In other news, I'm majorly bummed about losing out on this super-adorable and rare Pegasus plush. Technically, the auction hasn't ended yet -- there's still about two more hours as of this posting -- but bidding is now up to $150. I was willing to go up to $80 -- maybe $100 at the absolute highest -- but I just can't justify spending that much on a plush toy, even if it is of my favorite character. Oh, well, since I'm not getting that one, I can make an offer on this Saturn plush I've also had my eye on to complete my Outers set. Fingers crossed that I can get a good price on it.
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
I promised to post pictures of some of my newest purchases a couple of weeks back, but with my hand beat up, I didn't feel like doing it. So, I'm making up for it now!

First up, a package that just came in today: Christmas Petit Charas! I've been wanting these ever since they were first announced, but I wasn't sure about spending so much money on something so seasonal. Finally just decided to bite the bullet and get them. It's not like they're so Christmas-y that they can't be enjoyed all year round, right? Well, that's what I'm telling myself anyway...

Next we have a six inch Sailor Pluto Adventure Doll to go with the 11.5 inch one I bought a while back. Spent a little more than I ideally would have wanted to pay for such a small doll ($42), but the one with the black fuku is much harder to find than the silver fuku, so I think it's a fair price.

More pics under the cut )

In other exciting news, Sailor Moon Drops (a Candy Crush type app) is finally available in English on Android and iOS! I've twice tried to play the game in Japanese, but experienced bad luck both times. First time, I installed it on with the Android emulator I have on my laptop, but something happened to make the game stop working. The second time, I installed it on the cheap-o tablet I got for Christmas, which recently died on me. (Grr.) Now I have a much better tablet, so fingers crossed that nothing else bad will happen. If you'd like to friend me, my ID is ww4e43540.
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
Man, I'm having the best luck with drawings lately. First I won a $25 gift certificate to Right Stuf in a Christmas giveaway on one of my favorite manga review blogs, then today I found out I won an Ice Cream Pluto Petit Chara from giveaway on Tumblr. How lucky is that? It's funny, though, because I've been trying to find that Pluto for sale on eBay with absolutely no luck, but now that I'm finally getting one, boom, there's two up for sale this morning. Oh, well, free is definitely better!

In other exciting news, the trailer for the new season of Sailor Moon Crystal was released, and it looks SO GOOD! I can't wait to see the premiere in April. (No word yet if it's going to be a weekly show or keep to the same bimonthly schedule as before, but since it seems to be airing on TV this time, I image it'll be weekly, which is great.)
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
Y'all might be tired of me showing off my collection, but I can't help it! And I actually got some non-Sailor Moon items for a change.

First off, a rather timely purchase with the announcement that CLAMP is planning a new Card Captor Sakura short story -- two absolutely ADORABLE Sakura figures. The slightly larger one on the left is a Girls Memories figure I bought from the Crunchyroll store, while the smaller one was another one of those annoying Petit Chara blind boxes that I found at Books-a-Million, but this time I didn't mind since of the six figures in the series, five of them were Sakura and all of them were just the cutest, so I was pretty much guaranteed to get one that I wanted. (And I wouldn't have minded the Tomoyo figure either.)

Next up is a purchase I'm REALLY excited about, since there's not a whole lot of Kaleido Star merchandise out there, and even less available from American sellers on eBay, so she was a very lucky find. *squeals* Granted, it's kind of a strange pose (I think it's supposed to be a pose from her famous Golden Phoenix act), and the base is rather scratched up, and I'm not sure why they decided to color the top of the costume blue when the one she wore in the actual show was red...but it's LAYLA FREAKIN' HAMILTON!

Sailor Moon merchandise )

I have a couple more things coming in soon, but I'll wait to gush about them when they get here!
heavenly_pearl: (Default)
I just wanted to show off some really cool Sailor Moon stuff I recently bought from eBay (all from the same seller) that came in today. (Don't mind the glitter... That's where my Christmas tree was, and I haven't gotten around to cleaning it up yet. They're not going to stay there anyway.)

Pretty awesome, right? I'm especially in love with the Super Sailor Moon karaoke machine, circa probably the mid-90s. I had to pay close to $50 for her, but it was definitely worth it. She'd never really been taken out of the box, so she was still in working order. When you press her brooch, it plays an instrumental version of Moonlight Densetsu that you can sing along with. What's funny is that I first came across her on this French Sailor Moon collection site a couple of weeks ago and instantly fell in love, but figured I would never find one for sale. So imagine how happy I was when one actually did show up on eBay -- and at a fairly reasonable price to boot! The other three items are a Pluto magnet, a Pluto cell phone strap, and another fun item: a SuperS jigsaw puzzle/dry erase board, all from the 90s as well, I believe. Definitely old merchandise, but in great condition.

Close-up pics )

In other exciting news, I won a $25 gift certificate to Right Stuf, thanks to the Christmas giveaway over at one of my favorite manga review sites, Manga Test Drive. Would have been nice to have during their Christmas sale, but I'm sure I won't have any trouble finding something else to spend it on!
