Japanese - Takehito Koyasu as Fool

Takehito Koyasu has voiced tons of great characters - Il Palazzo (Excel Saga), Hotohori (Fushigi Yugi), Freyr (Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok), Rezo (Slayers), and Haruhi's father in Ouran High School Host Club, among others -- but I think his portrayal of Fool has to be one of my favorite performances of his. I just love the contrast between his rather smooth and deep voice when he's being serious and the relish he brings to the scene when Fool's being perverted. It cracks me up every time.

(I know I took a screenshot of the one scene in which Sarah and Kate have a conversation specifically for this meme -- by the way, I've finished uploading all the first season screencaps I took -- but I can't seem to find it. I must have either deleted it or saved over it. Argh! So you'll just have to make do with this photo of Sarah. She's the important one anyway.)

I don't watch dubs very often, but if Luci Christian's in the cast, that's a pretty good indicator to me that a dub will at least be watchable. She's voiced Duck in Princess Tutu -- I prefer the dub for that series, actually, largely due to her performance -- Kaname in Full Metal Panic, "Honey" in Ouran High School Host Club, Himeno in Pretear, Tenma in School Rumble, Ran in Super GALS, and probably a few more I've forgotten. I love the British accent she uses for Sarah in this show, and I'm impressed by how different her voices for Sarah and Kate are. You really can't tell they're voiced by the same person.

(Sarah has great actors in both languages, actually. In the Japanese version, she's voiced by another favorite, Aya Hisakawa, famous for her roles as Sailor Mercury, Kero (Card Captor Sakura), and Yuki Sohma (Fruits Basket), among numerous others. I almost just did a post only about Sarah's voice actors, but, eh, I wanted some variety.)

And although I wouldn't consider him a favorite, I do want to mention Mike McRae's work as Leon Oswald. The first time I watched Kaleido Star, I thought Leon was kind of dull, but once I heard Leon's French-accented voice in the dub, I was like, "Hellooooo, Leon! Come to Mama, you sexy thang!" ... Yeah, I'm a sucker for accents.
