How is it that my computer got infected with the Exploit-WMF trojan when I had the patch to fix the vulnerability already installed?

Oh, well, at least McAfee detected and deleted it as soon as the computer was infected. No harm done, that I can see.

I just wonder which website I visited gave it to me. I had several windows open at the time of the infection, but I would bet good money it was FF.net.

Hmm. While I'm happy that you've survived (yay!), this worries me, since you and I visit many of the same sites. :-\ Let me know if you discover anything. My own anti-virus has been quiet.

I want to say the sites I was visiting at the time of the infection were ff.net, ASMR, and the Furuba Forums, so you probably only have to worry about FF.net. I really doubt the other two were at fault, since they don't host ads or anything like that.

Yikes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was ffnet either. I think I need to make sure my virus scan is current.
