30 Days On Fanfic - Day 21

Day 21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?

Yes, I have. In fact, I wrote one for my very first fic. And then I wrote a prequel for that same first fic. (Must have been a little confusing for readers when I first posted them.) The prequel (Sands of Time: Destiny Arrives) came out of the desire to elaborate more on Masago's (Mamoru's and Setsuna's daughter) conception, which was only explained briefly in Sweet Dreams, while I wrote the sequel (Star-Crossed Lovers) because I wanted to write about Yumeko, Helios' and Chibi-Usa's daughter who was born at the end of SD. (Yeah, I took my online name from that character, although she's not a self-insert.) I was actually kind of tempted to write another sequel after Star-Crossed Lovers since it too ended with the birth of a baby, but luckily I realized the possibility of falling into a never-ending pattern, so I made Yumeko's child a boy whose prophesized birth signaled an era of eternal peace, in which Sailor Moon was no longer necessary.
