...time to look back and realize just how little I've accomplished, writing-wise!

Sailor Moon
To Be By Your Side (finished, but still in the middle of posting)
Metamorphosis (unposted and unfinished)
Every Move You Make
On a Snowy Night (unposted except in this journal and [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland and currently being expanded into a longer story)
Holiday fic for [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland  that I can't talk about yet
Revving Her Engines
A Study of Magical Girls (and Boys) in Manga (Not exactly a fic, but, eh, I'll mention it anyway.)
Interview with Esmeraude (Script-fic)
Ode to a Prisoner of Time (Fan Poetry)
Bad Timing
Dream Journal
Maidenhead
Time, A Prison
Sailor Moon Christmas Carols (Setsuna Got Run Over By Eudial, Usagi, the Klutzy Senshi, and Deck the Cauldron)
Another entry for [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland  that I probably shouldn't reveal yet, although I think voting is over...

Kaleido Star
Melting Ice (unfinished)

Fruits Basket
A Reason To Hope
The Bride Wore... (unposted and unfinished)

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

Less. Way less. I mean, looking at that list above, it does seem like I wrote a lot, but the majority of the Sailor Moon fics are just little ficlets written for [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland. Looking back at the goals I set at the end of last year, I wanted to finish Melting Ice this year. Didn't do that. I wanted to write more fics for my [livejournal.com profile] 15pairings  claim. Well, I think I actually wrote A Reason To Hope at the end of last year, and The Bride Wore... is still unfinished (for some reason), so that was a bit of a failure. I wanted to participate in Nanowrimo again. Didn't do that. Really, the only goal I reached was finishing To Be By Your Side.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?

I actually tried quite a few new things this year, thanks to the challenges at [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland . I wrote my first piece of fan poetry (Ode to a Prisoner of Time) and my first script-fic (Interview with Esmeraude), but I think the most surprising thing I wrote was On a Snowy Night, an AU Sailor Moon vampire fic. I'm not generally a fan of Alternate Universes or vampires, but I really liked that story -- enough that I'm turning it into a longer fic. I guess you could also say that Every Move You Make was something new for me, as it is a horror story, which is a genre I've never written before.

What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

Hmm, this is a tough one. I want to say To Be By Your Side, but I also really loved Every Move You Make and On a Snowy Night. Consider it a three-way tie.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?

Writing an AU fic was definitely a risk for me, but now I can kinda see the appeal of writing one, which is something I never really understood before. Don't get me wrong, I still very much prefer canon-compliant fics, but trying an AU is a nice change of pace.

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?

I will finish Melting Ice this coming year. It feels like I've been working on that fic forever, and I really just want to finish it so I can move on to other things. That's my main goal for the year. Other goals include writing more for [livejournal.com profile] 15pairings , finishing the expanded version of On A Snowy Night, and writing more of Metamorphosis. I may give Nano another try as well.

My Favorite Story:

Three-way tie between To Be By Your Side, Every Move You Make, and On a Snowy Night.

My Best Story:

Well, Every Move You Make won the "You Scare My Socks Off" challenge at [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland , so I guess I'll say that.

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe:

That's hard to say, since I haven't posted my [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland  entries at .moon and FF.net yet. (I really should get around to that. In fact, I think I'll start doing that after I finish this post.) Based solely on FF.net reviews, I guess I'll say A Reason To Hope, but it still got four reviews, which I don't think is that terrible for a one-shot in a fandom that I'm not really known in.

Most Fun:

Hehe, I was constantly giggling while writing Revving Her Engines. I had too much fun with all the sexual innuendo.

Most Disappointing:

I'm not too happy with the holiday fic I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland . Can't really get into why, but let's just say that this is the first monthly challenge that I'm fairly positive I won't place in. (Still wish I could have entered the angsty story I originally wanted to write.)

Most Sexy and Best Sexy Moment:

I would say Melting Ice, but I haven't posted any of the sexy parts yet. So, I guess I'll go with Maidenhead, which was my entry for the smutty P-13 fic challenge at [livejournal.com profile] sailormoonland .

Hardest to Write:

Melting Ice. I'm so stuck on this next chapter, it's not even funny.

Most Unintentionally Telling:

None of them, honestly.
