So, my dad bought my mom a dachshund puppy as an early anniversary present. His name is Prince, which was actually the name of another dog we had about five years ago, but Mom said she didn't care. She's over the moon in love with him, but I can't say I'm too thrilled. I'm so not a dog person -- I can only stand being around them for a short period of time -- and this one is particularly annoying. He kept me up half the night with his yapping, and you can't walk anywhere without him almost tripping you because he gets right under your feet. *sigh* Maybe I'll like him better once he's better trained, but at the moment...

In other news, the Summer of Hell continues. The high today? Supposed to be 106. *dies* At least we're supposed to get down to the early nineties later in the week. Relief at last!

We got a dachshund puppy two years ago and I love him dearly, but it is like having a permanent two year old. Ours can be down right nasty to strangers (he is very protective), but once he decides that he likes you....he'll pee on your foot on excitement when he sees you. (just thought I'd toss that out there to give you something to look forward to.)
