Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! Hope you're having a wonderful day.
It's been a great holiday, and I received some awesome gifts this year, including the MP3 player I wanted -- an iPod Touch, to be exact. Personally, I think it's a bit extravagant, considering that it looks like I won't be able to use a lot of the features without Wi-Fi -- really, I just wanted something that played music -- but I guess it's nice to have if we ever do get it. (Like in a hundred years... Come on, we still have dial-up!) Of couse, right now it's completely useless because iTunes won't open at all on my computer for some reason. *sigh* I've been trying various troubleshooting methods, but nothing's worked so far. I may end up just having to take it back and forget all about ever joining the digital music age... Man, that would suck.
My sister and her fiance surprised me with awesome gift #2: a Nintendo Wii! (Along with a My Sims game and some extra games and accessories that originally belong to Adam's parents.) I'm still trying to get used to using the controllers, but it's a lot of fun. (Tiring, but fun.) Turns out that I totally suck at Tennis, yet have some talent at Boxing, of all things. O.o I think Adam (who was showing me how things worked) was going a bit easy on me, but he only managed to knock me down once, while I got him like three or four times. Mom also gave me a $50 Visa gift card that I'm supposed to use to buy myself another game. Anybody have any suggestions? I really have no clue what other games are out there.
As for everything else, I'll put it under a cut:
Money
iTunes gift card
Three dresses
Pajamas
Boots
Jewelry
Two CDs (Andrea Bocelli and Il Divo)
Travel mug
Peanuts hot chocolate set
Bath set
Candy
I think that's about it. Time to go play with my Wii for a while, because this iTunes problem is kind of sucking all the fun out of Christmas.

on 2011-12-26 01:39 am (UTC)I have Vista (64-bit), and it's not opening after it's installed. I accept the Terms of Service, then right after I get a message that iTunes has stopped working and Windows is searching for a solution, except the solution just tells me to update to the latest version (which is the version I installed). No help at all. -_-
As for the types of games I like... Well, obviously, there's The Sims. With my GBA, I mostly play RPGs (Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Castlevania, etc.), and Mario's always a classic, I suppose. What else...? *pulls out GBA library* Somehow I ended up with a lot of digital board games -- probably because they were cheap -- but they were pretty fun. I totally sucked at the one shooting game in my collection, so it's probably best not to waste my money on anything like that. I don't care much for sports (other than figure skating) in real life, but Wii Sports is actually pretty fun. I'm pretty much open to anything, though, honestly.

on 2011-12-26 03:14 pm (UTC)As for the Wii, I really loved New Super Mario Brothers and Super Paper Mario. They were both really well done and while New Super Mario was just the same old platformer, Super Paper Mario had some really cool twists and just totally goofy-fun moments. I've heard great things about the Super Mario Galaxy games but have only played them a little. Donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby's Epic Yarn are also supposed to be really great ones. I don't think there're a lot of true RPGs out for it, but Twilight Princess is GOOD (it's a Zelda game) and Skyward Sword is supposed to be AMAZING. And all the Lego games (Lego Harry Potter, Lego Batman, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Starwars - I think that's all of them) are super addictive fun.
Oh! And MarioKart. MarioKart is amazing! They really did a good job on MarioKart for the Wii.
So there are some suggestions. If I think of anything else (especially since I am away from my house and can't remember all my games off the top of my head!), I will definitely let you know! :D

on 2011-12-26 09:41 pm (UTC)But now I have a different problem: the iPod won't connect to the iTunes store. I'm thinking it just doesn't work with dial-up. *sigh* I wish my parents had asked me to come with them to pick which one I wanted. It might have ruined the surprise, but at least I would have known the important questions to ask. They're hopeless when it comes to technology.
And thanks for the game recommmendations! I always wanted to try a Zelda game, so I think I'm leaning that way at the moment.
