Sailor Moon Crystal Episode 6

heavenly_pearlDidn't get the chance to talk about the new Crystal episode this morning due to Livejournal not working, so hopefully I'll remember everything I wanted to mention.
- Yum, shitless Mamoru! Wish we got to see more of his dream, though.
- Aw, they left out the scene where Luna reads the newspaper and Ikuko thinks it is cute that the cat is pretending to read. I don't know why, but Crystal seems determined to take out cute, funny scenes like this for some reason. I guess they don't fit in with the more serious, mature tone they're going for.
- I wonder, does Zoisite possibly dye his hair? Because his eyebrows are more of a light brown color.
- Nephrite is pissed at Jupiter for injuring him last episode. That doesn't seem very conductive toward a romance between them, at least.
- Cute how Usagi imagines(?) Sailor V talking to her through the game.
- The secret base under the arcade is a lot cooler and futuristic than it was in the manga.
- Zoisite is really attractive as a woman.
- It's weird. They took out the part where Usagi falls under Zoisite's brainwashing to look for the crystal, but kept in the part where she feels woozy and weak. That just doesn't make much sense, because it makes Usagi seem like she's sick or something, if she's that tired after just running a short while, when originally it was the brainwashing that caused it. I mean, she's hardly an Olympic athlete, but she's not going to faint after doing a little exercise, either.
- Another weird thing: why is Usagi hesitant to transform in front of Tuxedo Kamen? Not only did he show up at her house last episode and lead her to the battle, she also just told him that she was the leader "of the team". Granted, she didn't say leader of the senshi, but considering that was in response to Tuxedo Kamen saying he didn't have special powers like the senshi, that part was kind of implied. (Maybe some kind of translation error?) The manga handled this scene a lot better.
- Pretty awesome battle between Zoisite and the other senshi, even if the attacks were rather generic. No attack names, just throwing powers at each other.
- OMG, Beryl herself actually showed up during the battle! (That's the major change I mentioned before.)
- Oo, I LOVE Moon Healing Escalation! That was gorgeous!
- Is Zoisite dead now? He got hit pretty badly, shielding Beryl from the attack... Probably not, considering how they spared Jadeite and Nephrite, but I have a feeling he'll at least be in a coma.
- Did Tuxedo Kamen kiss Sailor Moon again while she was sleeping? *sigh* Well, it's kinda ambiguous, so I checked out how that scene went in the manga. Still can't really tell, since Naoko didn't show an actual kiss either, but there was one panel that looked like he might have been aiming to kiss her on the cheek, instead of her lips, which I guess isn't quite as bad. (For the record, in all the times I've reread the manga, I don't think I ever got the feeling that he kissed her during that scene before watching Crystal.)
- Edit: I didn't pay much attention to the opening credits, but apparently they've changed Queen Serenity's hair back to its original silver/white. I'll have to pay more attention next time, although if they fixed that, why haven't they fixed the beginning of Mercury's transformation sequence so it matches Mars and Jupiter's? (Yes, that's still really bothering me.)
Eh, it was an okay episode, but not a great one. Probably my least favorite so far, or at least tied with Mercury's. I think the writers need to be more careful when they deviate from the manga, keeping in mind that when they do make changes (like the ones I mentioned in points 9 & 10), they can't just keep other things that should be affected by the change the same.
In other news, I'm almost finished with the next chapter of Melting Ice! (On the last scene.) I couldn't babysit the nephew this week because I had a cold, so I actually had time to sit down and concentrate on my writing for a change. Everything I wrote is probably crappy, but, hey, at least it's progess.
- Again, just a few changes from the manga, with one fairly major new scene.
