Lessee, what else to talk about... Oh, I finally got the second Cowboy Bebop DVD in this weekend from Netflix after waiting for months for it to become available. I have to admit that this bunch of episodes was much better than the first one, which I wasn't too impressed with. I loved "Waltz for Venus" and the one with Jet's old girlfriend, and Ed is a lot of fun. ^_^ I also watched a couple of episodes dubbed since I heard how good it was supposed to be and discovered that it really is a great dub. *shocked gasp*

The funny thing is that my mom absolutely adores the show. I think she's more interested in it than I am, if you can believe that. She was actually disappointed when she saw the preview for the eleventh episode and found out that she would have to wait until the next disc to see it. *laughs* I have a cool mother.

First off, I gotta wish a "Happy Birthday" to the coolest of all the senshi -- Sailor Pluto. Wonder how old she is this year... ^_^ I almost forgot about it, but last night I was looking over reviews for my old stories, trying to pump myself up, and I came across Tick Tock, the story I wrote in honor of her special day a couple of years ago, which reminded me of the fact.

So, what did I do on this special day? Oh, nothing much. I got the fourth DVD of RahXephon in the mail today, which was really good. I've already watched it twice -- once in Japanese and the other time in English. It actually has a pretty decent dub. (Don't go having another heart attack, Samuraiter. I still prefer the original. :P) The episode with Helena, Itsuki, and Makoto as children was interesting, and kinda cute. ^_^ I've also taken a real shining to Yagumo Soichi. He's mostly been in the background for most of the show, but he had some really nice moments in the episodes I watched today. I think he, Ayato, and Itsuki might make it into my little Harem of Bishies by the end of the show.

I also bought a new CD, Hayley Westenra's Odyssey. If you've never heard of her, she's this New Zealand teenager with the absolute most beautiful voice I've ever heard in my life. Next to Josh Groban's Closer, her Pure CD is my most listened to album. I'm not sure if the new CD is quite as good as the first, but it's definitely a worthy companion. She even makes What You Never Know (Won't Hurt You), a rather boring number from Sarah Brightman's otherwise stellar Harem album, something worth listening to.

I find it somewhat amusing, though, that it seems like all my favorite singers like to duet with my other favorite singers. (Not that I'm complaining. ^_^) On this CD, Westenra does a beautiful duet version of Dell' Amore Non Si Sa with the original singer of the piece, Andrea Bocelli. He, of course, has also dueted with Sarah Brightman (on Time to Say Goodbye) and Celine Dion, on The Prayer, which was then covered by Charlotte Church and Josh Groban, the latter who has also sung with the Corrs on Canta Alla Vita. It's like the Six Degrees of Andrea Bocelli in the world of classical crossover and Europop! (I tend to think of Dion as Europop because of her French albums, which definitely have a Europop feel.) *laughs*

Anyway, I guess that's about it for today.

Astros squeaked out another victory, 4-3, which means they now lead 2-1 in the series. Just two more wins and we'll be going to the World Series for the first time ever!

Today's game was a little nail-biting near the end. We had a two run lead at the bottom of the ninth, but the Cardinals managed to score one run and had a pretty good chance of scoring another to tie up the game. Luckily, though, that didn't happen. Whew!

We did cause another one of their players to be injured, though. (Sanders, the guy that got hurt in the last game, was replaced by So Taguchi for today's game, but he's hoping to be back tomorrow.) Lane was on first when Ausmus (I think) got a base hit by hitting into the far right field. Instead of just going to second, however, Lane decided to try for third and ended up knocking the Cardinals' third baseman Nunez right off his feet while sliding into the plate. It wasn't quite as ugly as what happened to Sanders, but he did have to be taken out of the game. I think they said he has a bruised thigh or something like that. We'll see if he'll play tomorrow.

Heh, wouldn't it be amusing if everybody on the Cardinals' starting line-up managed to get injured during the course of the series? Not that I'm hoping that anybody gets seriously hurt, but with the way things are going for them, you have to wonder...

I also got the first disc of RahXephon today from Netflix. I have to admit, after I got to see a dubbed episode while were at my uncle's house during Hurricane Rita, I wasn't too enthused about it, but it's actually really good so far. I can't wait for the next disc to come in. My favorite character so far is Haruka, I think. She's pretty cool, and I got a kick out of the fact that when she and Ayato first meet, she calls herself a "champion of justice." Her seiyuu is Hisakawa Aya, who also is Sailor Mercury's seiyuu, so that was a nice little in-joke. I also love the opening song "Hemisphere". I've been humming it all day long.
