Now, to the squeeing!

First off, my Emma manga volumes came in on Tuesday, and I finished reading them yesterday. Blue, thank you for recommending it to me! ^_^ I loved it, loved it, loved it! The ending was a little weak, in my opinion, but the rest was near perfection. I do believe I'll give it the number three spot on my favorite manga list, just behind Chobits and Fruits Basket.

This week, I also finished watching the Peach Girl anime, which I've been renting from Netflix. I've heard a lot of bad reviews for it, especially compared to the manga, but I actually really loved it, in a guilty pleasure kind of way. *laughs* It kind of makes me want to check out the "superior" manga, but considering that it's eighteen volumes long and I already have a "to read" list that's a mile long, I think it's probably better on my wallet if I just stick to getting the boxset, which just came out a couple of weeks ago. (Good timing!) Just need to scrounge up the money...

The biggest squee of all, though, is...

World Championships on ABC! Tomorrow!

*jumps up and down like a crazy person*

Whoo! You have no idea how excited I am! Three hours of figure skating goodness! Of course, being the fanatic I am, I already know the final results (except for the men's competition, which isn't over yet), but...

Can it be two o'clock tomorrow already?

I finally put in my Right Stuf order, after agonizing over what I should get my remaining funds. (I bought the MKR boxset and a Hayley Westenra CD last weekend with part of the eighty dollars my mom gave me to spend.) Though the Diamond Daydreams DVDs were quite tempting at only eleven dollars each, I ultimately decided I wanted the Paradise Kiss manga more, so that's what I ordered, along with Vol. 5 of Aishiteruze Baby and a cheap, but cute, Fruits Basket poster of Tohru, Kyo, and Yuki that I mainly just got so that I reached the $49 needed for free shipping. *laughs* I don't even know where I'll put it, since I don't think I have much free space on my walls, but I suppose I can take down a few things or something...

Well, anyway, speaking of Aishiteruze Baby, I just finished reading the volumes I bought last weekend. Again, I must say that it is just so darn cute! ^_^ It's not necessarily the best written manga in the world -- as I was reading, I was constantly thinking of ways the mangaka could have improved the story -- but, still, the cuteness! Sometimes it's nice to just read a little bit of WAFF.

Still haven't gotten to my new Fruits Basket volume, though. I've been rereading the entire series lately, so I'm saving the new one until I'm finished. I'm really in the mood to write another FB fic, though. I wasn't really planning to until all the manga was released into English, but Shigure-muse is being awfully persistant lately. *sigh* My muses should be wanting to work on my Kaleido Star fic, not giving me more ideas for a fandom that hasn't been completely released yet in the States, but I do know what happens at the end thanks to online translations, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad...

Gah, go away plot bunnies!

Today was pretty awesome. ^_^

First off, Mom and I went to go see Blades of Glory. Hilarious movie. I did get a little grossed out a couple of times to the point of feeling like I wanted to throw up, but the rest of the movie was so awesome, I didn't really mind. I already can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it again.

After that, we did a little shopping at the mall, which of course meant a stop at Barnes & Noble. Since I finished watching the Paradise Kiss anime last night (very good ^_^), I really wanted to check out the manga, but, unfortunately, they didn't have it in stock. :( So I decided to grab all the Aishiteruze Baby volumes they had, which was all of them except for the fifth one, instead, and I'm really glad I did. I've only read the first couple of chapters so far, but I already love it. It's so CUTE! ^_^

We then headed to Best Buy. Incredibly enough, they had the Magic Knights Rayearth boxset I was thinking about ordering from Right Stuf for fifteen dollars cheaper, which then got discounted another 10% thanks to a coupon Mom had. (Can you say awesome?) I also got the new Hayley Westenra CD I have been dying to get, and Mom bought the Firefly boxset as well (yay!).

The rest of the day was spent going to various other stores -- I didn't get anything else -- and having lunch at Cici's Pizza, but that wasn't the end of my great day. When we got home, the Fruits Basket volume I preordered a while back finally came in! That was just the cherry on my sundae. ^_^

In fact, the only bad thing about today was that while we were gone, my best friend Crystle, who is back in Texas for a visit, came by the house. *sigh* Oh, well. The gang's getting together next weekend for a sleepover, and we've made tentative plans to do something during the week as well, so we'll get together eventually. I just really wish I could have seen her today. I can't wait to see her and Hunter again, and finally meet little Ethan.

Instructions: List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

01. "You are Water" by Hayley Westenra
02. "My Confession" by Josh Groban
03. "Dream a Dream" by Charlotte Church and Billy Gilman
04. "Music of the Night" by Sarah Brightman
05. "Confidence for Quiet" by The Corrs
06. "The Prayer" by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion
07. "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey

As for tagging... Well, I only have seven other people on my Friends list other than Kerry, so if you're on the list, consider yourself tagged. ^_^ (Or not. I don't care.)

First off, I gotta wish a "Happy Birthday" to the coolest of all the senshi -- Sailor Pluto. Wonder how old she is this year... ^_^ I almost forgot about it, but last night I was looking over reviews for my old stories, trying to pump myself up, and I came across Tick Tock, the story I wrote in honor of her special day a couple of years ago, which reminded me of the fact.

So, what did I do on this special day? Oh, nothing much. I got the fourth DVD of RahXephon in the mail today, which was really good. I've already watched it twice -- once in Japanese and the other time in English. It actually has a pretty decent dub. (Don't go having another heart attack, Samuraiter. I still prefer the original. :P) The episode with Helena, Itsuki, and Makoto as children was interesting, and kinda cute. ^_^ I've also taken a real shining to Yagumo Soichi. He's mostly been in the background for most of the show, but he had some really nice moments in the episodes I watched today. I think he, Ayato, and Itsuki might make it into my little Harem of Bishies by the end of the show.

I also bought a new CD, Hayley Westenra's Odyssey. If you've never heard of her, she's this New Zealand teenager with the absolute most beautiful voice I've ever heard in my life. Next to Josh Groban's Closer, her Pure CD is my most listened to album. I'm not sure if the new CD is quite as good as the first, but it's definitely a worthy companion. She even makes What You Never Know (Won't Hurt You), a rather boring number from Sarah Brightman's otherwise stellar Harem album, something worth listening to.

I find it somewhat amusing, though, that it seems like all my favorite singers like to duet with my other favorite singers. (Not that I'm complaining. ^_^) On this CD, Westenra does a beautiful duet version of Dell' Amore Non Si Sa with the original singer of the piece, Andrea Bocelli. He, of course, has also dueted with Sarah Brightman (on Time to Say Goodbye) and Celine Dion, on The Prayer, which was then covered by Charlotte Church and Josh Groban, the latter who has also sung with the Corrs on Canta Alla Vita. It's like the Six Degrees of Andrea Bocelli in the world of classical crossover and Europop! (I tend to think of Dion as Europop because of her French albums, which definitely have a Europop feel.) *laughs*

Anyway, I guess that's about it for today.
